Luis Navarro

Luis Navarro Del Angel is a new media artist. His artistic practice revolves around electronic Latin dance music using software and code. His research involves the creation of culturally situated computer software that connects knowledge and practice from critical code studies, live coding practice, new interfaces for musical expression, and Latin American musicology.

Luis is a member of Grupo D’Binis, an electronic cumbia audiovisual duo whose second half is the visual artist and McMaster student Jessica Rodríguez. He is also a member of the Mexican live coding collective RGGTRN and has presented on stages in Mexico, Spain (2014), France (2014), United Kingdom (2016), Colombia (2018), Peru (2018), Ecuador (2018) , United States (2019). He is also part of the Cybernetic Orchestra directed by David Ogborn, where he has performed on stages in Canada (2016), Mexico (2017), Denmark (2017) and Spain (2019).
