Biography
Stefanie Wasserman is a Brooklyn-based conceptual artist who works in “Text, and” — a form she created. “Text, and” combines text with mediums such as improvised vocals, theater, augmented reality, film, and/or graphics. (The etymology of “Text, and” was inspired by “Yes, and”, the dictum of improvisational theater.)
She has exhibited in many international and U.S. museums and artistic venues such as the 404 Festival of Art and Technology at Museo Centro Cultural Digital (Mexico City, Mexico); Sediento (Madrid, Spain); MAEM (Madrid, Spain); Bienal de Arte at the Museum of Contemporary Art, (Santiago, Chile), American Institute of Graphic Arts (New York City, U.S.); Pratt (New York City, U.S.); 404 Festival of Art and Technology at Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes Juan B. Castagnino (Rosario, Argentina); Gallery Garanti (Istanbul, Turkey); and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York City, U.S.).
She was awarded by The Telly Awards (N.Y, U.S.); the Vesuvius International Film Festival (Vesuvius, Italy); “Who’s Doing it Right?” (Sydney, Australia); the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (N.Y, U.S.); and the American Film Institute (Los Angeles, U.S.) for very short story-telling in film.
