Sadam Fujioka

Sadam Fujioka lives and works in Fukuoka (Japan). He holds a Master in Visual Arts; he is an Artist, Programmer and Director. His works focus on the new sound-visual composition systems for real-time performance. He founded the company anno lab Inc. and has created numerous interactive content and game shows. His exhibitions and live performances were presented at various Multimedia Art festivals around the world including the FILE Festival (Brazil), ElectroFringe (Austria), “404 Festival” (Argentina) and the Japan Multimedia Art Festival, among others.

He plays electronic music synchronized with electromechanical devices that physically produce sound—switching lights on and off, hitting tables or glasses—thereby adding acoustic, tangible elements to the electronic music.

He began his artistic career in the early 2000s by developing his own software for music composition and performance. Drawing on projects he has undertaken since 2012 as Representative of anno lab—including artworks and the interaction design of experiential exhibits for science centres and museums—he will share the philosophy that underpins his creative practice.
